Learn "How to Survive the Financial Crisis" at a workshop presented by
Vicky Spring Love, entrepreneur and author of Stop Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, and
Ken Brown, McDonald's Franchisee and Award Winning Author of A Leap of Faith. The workshop will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the
Wayne County Community College, Laboratory Science Building Room LSB 133 on lower level, 8200 W Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48219. This is a free workshop.
At this life changing workshop, attendees will learn guerilla budget-stretching strategies designed to maximize money now, profit-making ideas for a down economy, how to get and keep an excellent credit score, how to work on your business not in your business, Bible-based financial success principles, and how to keep your faith strong in a down economy.
Presenter Ken Brown is a man whose stated purpose in life is to be a servant leader. One of seven children born to teenaged parents, he grew up in extreme poverty. The family was evicted on ten occasions, three of them occurring in just one year! Although the family grew up in poverty, his parents and grandmother instilled within him faith, a strong work ethic and hope for a brighter future.
After graduating from Southern Illinois University with a major in food and nutrition, Ken spent the next 12 years working in many facets of the food service industry. While serving as a waiter, Ken often served an attractive African American couple. The couple took note of Ken’s dedication and customer service. Ken later learned that the wife was the vice president of McDonald’s. She was impressed with Ken’s level of professionalism. Her influence in Ken’s life would later lead him to Detroit and to the complete financing of his two McDonald’s restaurants.
Ken’s story is an example of true faith and perseverance. Although faced with every challenge imaginable, he chose to trust God. He told me, "Life is about God’s grace, obedience and excellence.”
Presenter Vicky Spring Love is a 15-year veteran of the mortgage industry who has a keen understanding of what caused the current global financial crisis. She has owned several business ventures including a real estate investment firm, a residential mortgage company and a communications company. Her book, Stop Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, was selected as the textbook for the Finances and Stewardship class at Destiny School of Ministry, which has 34 locations worldwide.
Vicky holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Detroit and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Oakland University. In May 2009, she will complete studies to earn her doctorate of Religious Studies degree from Destiny Christian University.
This workshop is co-sponsored by Wayne County Community College District and Ken Brown International.
